Gordon Field developed his musical roots in Montreal in the early 90's where he was a radio dj for over ten years on CKUT (Radio McGill). His numerous shows varied in range but generally traced along the lines of ambient, world, and the developing spectrum of electronic music. It was an exciting time for new music which ultimately led him further into its promotion by joining forces with Andrew, and subsequently nurturing the groundwork for Interchill Records.
He was the label manager, art director, and A&R rep for the label between 1996-2002. Gordon has since contributed to Interchill with the development of the Earth Octave Lounge series. As a dj (aka dj Field), he remains on his quest to unearth the freshest sonic grooves from around the world. Inspired by the hybrid musical evolution of electronic, ambient, dub, ethno & lounge, Field is best known to unite diverse musical boundaries into his sets while introducing listeners to a new breed of indigenous organic music.
Often mistaken solely as an ambient-downtempo dj, he's actually best known for his adventurous mix of dance music. Gordon has dj'd around the world at parties and festivals. Hidden talent: He is a ridiculously good disc-golf player.
